Back in January when NFRC acquired the Efficient Windows Collaborative (EWC), we knew we were about to embark on an amazing venture. Our goal was to provide homeowners with a simple way to discover more about the benefits of efficient windows in their homes. After 10 months of working with members as well as NFRC staff, we are excited to launch the newly redesigned EWC website.
We have identified new ways to connect consumers, architects, design build professionals and others to all the valuable resources from the EWC as well as the NFRC energy-performance ratings. The Window Selection Tool (WST) that you and your customers rely on remains intact, and we integrated the NFRC branding into the EWC to reinforce the value of the energy-performance label.
But this redesign is only one part of the plan for the EWC. We will continue to update the website with insightful and relevant information as well as add valuable resources for consumers. If you don’t already have your products in the Window Selection Tool, then now is the time to get involved. Moving forward, the plan is to maintain the tool while we enhance the software to include additional information, minimize the manual processes, and increase consumer awareness.
We recognize the enormity of the process as well as the opportunities that it presents to NFRC, our members, the fenestration industry, and consumers. Starting on Dec. 1 we will open enrollment to the WST. Look for more details in the coming weeks.
